PASIGHAT, Jun 1: A sub-divisional level consultative meeting convened by the Mebo MLA cum Advisor to CM Lombo Tayeng was held on Thursday at the Motum musup (Community hall) aiming to chalk out future development and welfare schemes and projects to be taken up in 2018-19.
It was attended by the East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak, Meboi/c ADC Sangeeta Yirang, DPO Ponung Boring and other head of offices including teacher in-charge of various schools, GBs, senior citizens and PRI leaders.
Dr. Milorai Modi (Principal JNC), Dr. Buk Lego (DDSE, Rtd) and Bodong Yirang (Director elementary Education, Rtd) graced the occasion as resource persons. Twenty two departments presented various future welfare plans to the authorities concerned in the meeting.
Addressing the participants, Mebo MLA Tayeng while seeking public cooperation has opined that establishing strong foundation is an important precondition for effective development. Preliminary steps have to be taken into account involving grass-root level for larger benefit of the area in true sense. A thorough analysis of what is needed and collaborative planning process will help to ensure the collaboration has a strong and shared sense of purpose, he felt.
Tayeng exhorted the people to continue to function as a partner in development of the area by way of constructive and developmental approaches.
‘Government is aware of the challenges and difficulties faced by the people. Government sponsored programme and policies are massive and significant but many people especially rural masses and youths are unaware of the welfare schemes due to which they are ignorant of how to avail the benefits. Media fraternity as communicator has to keep them informed by providing them with in-depth insight on important issues and development,’ added the Advisor to CM. He asked the officers to be sincere dedicated while serving the people.
Before concluding his speech, Tayeng advised the GBs to be impartial while delivering justice and to refrain from politics. He along with other dignitaries distributed forty four LED TV sets to the Gaon Buras under CMs Information scheme which will enable them to gather knowledge about various developmental and welfare initiatives of both central and state government.
DC Tamiyo Tatak in his deliberation stated that planning is an important part of growth, development and sustainability of citizens and place as a whole. Planning suggests a systematic attempt to shape the future linking scientific and technical knowledge to actions in the public domain, he said.
He appealed the land owners not to claim exorbitant rates for compensation, which may prove as a hurdle in early completion of projects and schemes. Extend full cooperation to the government executing agencies considering that development projects would go a long way in benefiting the people by reducing miseries, Tatak stated.
