ITANAGAR, Aug 24:Arunachal will soon get a Regional Biodiversity Centre which will provide researchers and young scientists an opportunity to explore the state’s hidden potential in Agri & Horti and other allied sectors. This was announced by Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein on Thursday.

The Centre will not only help researchers to identify, conserve and help sustainable use of biological diversity, but it will also help progressive farmers to know and learn more new ideas about soil and  climatic condition, thereby improving their farming practice and stabilize the food production.

Mein disclosed that after holding series of meetings with representatives of all northeastern states it led to decision to set up the regional center here in the state capital.

“It will play a major role in harnessing and sustaining the Horti and Agriculture products and give a chance to researchers to tap our gifted rich biodiversity, which needs more exploration and study,” he added.
