Book on Traditional Festivals of Arunachal Pradesh released
ITANAGAR, Sep 24:Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) is implementing the Resource Block (RB) Strategy under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY NRLM). It has entered into a tripartite MoU with Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and Orvakal Mandal Podupu Lakshmi Ikya Sangham (OMPLIS) for implementing RB strategy in Sagalee, Yachuli, Daporijo and Basar CD Blocks. OMPLIS is a National Resource Organization (NRO) designated by Ministry of Rural Development Govt. of India (MoRD).
The RB strategy involves implementation of External Community Resource Person Rounds (E-CRP) wherein trained and experienced resource persons from concerned NROs.
A total of 4 numbers of E-CRP teams had arrived from OMPLIS, Andhra Pradesh for E-CRP rounds in blocks designated for them. The E-CRP round lasted for 45 days, commencing in second week of August which concluded today. Concerned teams returned to Itanagar to share their experience in formation of women SHGs and their stay in remote villages of their concerned blocks.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary RD & PR Rinchin Tashi, appreciated the presentation made by concerned E-CRP teams and officials from Block Mission Management Units (BMMU). He shared his experience of promotion of SHGs during his earlier tenure as a block development officer.
He advised the State Mission Director ArSRLM to work out possible ways and means to resolve logistics issues in ensuring maximum possible support to Block Mission Management Units of ArSRLM. He also emphasized on the need for proactive role of bankers in development of rural areas.
Appreciating the determination of ArSRLM in living up to the challenges at the field level, he also appreciated the efforts undertaken by representatives of OMPLIS in reaching out to remote villages while navigating difficult terrain and incessant rains.
Special Secretary (RD & PR) Nyali Ete, mentioned that E-CRP rounds was an opportunity for mutual learning for both teams as well as officials and community members from Arunachal Pradesh. He also appreciated the systematic approach adopted by ArSRLM in moulding and influencing community members at an attitudinal level. He volunteered to extend all necessary support to ArSRLM in liasioning with the State Government for timely fund release and other matters requiring intervention of State Government.
Director RD and PR, K. Dulom was full of praise for the effort extended by BMMU officials and E-CRP teams. He mentioned that ArSRLM has laid a strong foundation in the preceding years. He also appreciated the efforts put in by rural poor women by responding to E-CRP teams despite their pre-occupation in agriculture works.
