ITANAGAR, Oct 26:Following state government’s failure to fulfill its long pending charter of demand, the All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (CEC AASSATA) on Thursday has cautioned the state government that all SSA teachers will take mass casual leave from November 6 to 8 next, if their demands are not fulfilled immediately.

SSA teachers have been demanding for batch wise regularization (one batch in one DPC) and enhancement of salaries (at par with regular teachers) since last year and has also served an ultimatum to the state government to address their demands within September of this year.

Highlighting grievances of SSA teachers along with recalling series of democratic movement being organized by them, CEC AASSATA President, Tarak Agung Tarh informed that government apathy towards their demands compelled them to take the drastic move as there is no more option left before them.

Reminding the government about its written assurance given to SSA teachers, Tarh expressed resentment while disclosing that 11 months have passed, but the government has not initiated any step to solve their grievances.

Seeking “equal pay for equal work”, the newly appointed Association General Secretary, Techi Bollo strongly demanded the government to enhance the SSA teachers’ salary as per the recommendations of 7th CPC and Bidol Tayeng Committee recommendation.

Bollo informed that during the mass casual leave the SSA teachers across the state will also stage peaceful dharna at their respective headquarters.

The association has reaffirmed its decision to resort to different modes of agitation by re-launching its indefinite democratic movement next to press for their demands.
