Governor chairs high-level security review meeting
ITANAGAR, Mar 26: All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association has urged the state government to exempt in-service SSA teachers from Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
Addressing media persons at press club today, President AASSATA, Tarak Agung Tarh opined that APTET/CTET should not be made mandatory for teachers appointed prior to 2012 as the RTE was implemented in the state in the year 2012.
Referring to the government memo No. ED 2/649/2009, Tarak said it is clearly mentioned that 85 & 25% of the vacant post of PRT/TGT will be filled up from the in-service SSA Teachers maintaining seniority procedure. ‘Moreover, the Diploma in Elementary Education and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) would be minimum qualification for in-service SSA teachers,’ asserted President AASSATA.
Further, AASSATA also urged the government to completely ban service renewal system. Since 2009 to 7th DPC, 696 teachers have been regularized without signing a contract service renewal form but now Government of Arunachal has reinstated the system with April 4 next as the last date. ‘Such short notice from government for all SSA teachers is unfeasible as most of the teachers are engaged in CBSE as well as upcoming state board examination duty,’ he reasoned.
While appreciating the state government for enhancing their salary, inclusion of DA for SSA teachers and cancellation of 136 illegal SSA teachers, AASAPTA President also requested the government to regularize the eligible SSA teachers with one batch in one DPC.
