ITANAGAR, Sep 12: Aggrieved candidates under sports quota has demanded the Home Departmentl to immediately announce the exam results within September 20 next, while cautioning to launch democratic movement.
It has been a long 5 years wait for the result for the candidates who took the test. Advertisement for the post was published in the year 2018, where sportspersons representing the state were invited to fill up for the post. It took three years for the department to conduct the recruitment process and two more years to publish the results.
Addressing the media persons at the press club here, a candidate Matyup Tamlung said that due to inordinate delay by recruiting agencies thousands of candidates are going through frustration.
The examination was conducted and after completion of physical test the result is yet to be declared also despite repeated representation submitted to the concerned department, he said.
“Despite the clearance from the SIT on meritorious sportspersons and also final submission of merit list from the Director Sports, the department is yet to announce the result. The clarification from the Director Sports was submitted on March 11, 2022 and SIT enquiry report by the end of December 2021 according to the reliable sources,” he said.
“Home Minister Bamang Felix and DGP assured that the result will be out by the first week of September but unsurprisingly we were informed of yet another issue. Now the department says that a new guideline on recruitment process is being introduced,” he said, adding 'all this excuse is to delay the process and also applicants feel there is foul play.'
He said that according to the first job recruitment notification guidelines, 41 sports disciplines were eligible for the test and now it is 63 sports disciplines. 'This clearly indicates that the police department is somewhere in effort for back door entry and is showcasing their incompetence in job recruitment.'
Meanwhile, another candidate said that entire recruitment should be in compliance with the earlier recruitment rules and the department should refrain from implementing the recently introduced guidelines.
