MECHUKHA, Jul 26: State Assembly Speaker PD Sona visited altogether 10 villages of 33rd Mechukha Assembly Constituency from July 22-25 as part of “Booth Sashaktikaran Abhiyan”. The “Booth Sashaktikaran Abhiyan” is an initiative of the central BJP government to visit and strengthen all those polling stations where BJP received less votes in the last Assembly and Lok Sabha elections respectively.
During the visit, the Speaker, who represents 33rd Mechukha Constituency, briefed about the Abhiyan, its objective and way forwards. He informed that despite the government's various developmental and welfare initiatives there are many polling stations in the constituency where the ruling BJP government received very few votes in the last elections. He appealed to them not to repeat the same and extend their support to the BJP government.
He stated that the BJP government at the center under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu is very strong and doing lots of developmental initiatives for the people of state. He however urged upon the public of Shi-Yomi not to cause hindrances as and when any government-sponsored schemes and developments are implemented. Such unnecessary hindrances not only prevent developments but also deprive our own people from their rights, he added.
Shi-Yomi District BJP President also echoed similar concern and appealed to the people of the district to support BJP for all-round development. He informed that altogether 10 villages from Shi-Yomi were shortlisted by the BJP government for less votes which is a cause of concern. Stating that during the last 8 years Modi-led central government and Pema Khandu-led state government have done various welfare initiatives specially for rural people, Taluk urged upon the public to shower their support and blessings to the BJP.

Meanwhile, under the initiative of the Environment & Forest Department, the Speaker distributed water filters to the cattle herders of the district. Sponsored under the Development of “Wildlife Habitat”, Aalo Forest Division, the distribution of Water Filter is to encourage people not to kill wildlife.
