ITANAGAR, Oct 3:Monitoring and supervision visits of 10 health facilities of Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai districts was conducted by Special Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) cum MD (NHM) Dr. Tapasya Raghav accompanied by Nodal Officer (NUHM), Dr. R Dodum recently.

During the visit the Special Secretary took stock of functioning of all the components of NHM from Sub Center to District Hospital levels and also personally looked into the immunization plans made by the health facilities.

During the inspection, she pointed out various lacunae in the functioning of human resources, essential drugs and supplies, service delivery, referral linkages and record keeping in facilities she visited.  She also interacted with the ASHAs at the facilities and community level and enquired about their performance and receipt of incentives. She appreciated the active involvement of MO in-charge of CHC Sunpura and PHC Lathao which has increased the performance of their respective facilities.

District level review meetings were conducted at DH Roing, DH Tezu and CHC Namsai separately for the three districts along with district functionaries in which she urged the field staff to work hard and conduct intensive and regular monitoring in order to improve the health scenario of their districts.

Findings of the health facilities and various other issues pertaining to NHM programme were discussed and directions were given to how to solve them with ‘out of the box’ thinking. She asked the DMO Namsai to give show cause notice to absentees and non-performing NHM staffers of the district. She directed all the DMOs to pay all the monetary benefits of pregnant women (JSY, JSSK) and ASHAs incentives through DBT. Responsibilities were fixed upon the district and block level concerned staffers to visit the health facilities as per NHM guidelines and show performance. They were also asked to do convergence meetings with ICDS and other departments at their own levels and correlate the data before uploading to avoid any discrepancies.
