Tourist Resort on banks of Yomgo inaugurated

AALO, Jun 15: ‘Arunachal is emerging as one of the most preferred tourist destinations and it should be our endeavour to promote it by creating good avenues and show hospitality to outsiders,’ said Parliamentary Secretary Tourism and Civil Aviation, PD Sona today.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the P&PT Tourist Resort constructed in the vicinity of Aalo town on the left bank of Yomgo River.

Addressing the gathering, Sona said that ninety percent of the government sponsored schemes on tourism are left unproductive either due to haphazard constructions, land ownership problem or defective site selections by the contractors and thrust will be given to those people who are really serious about development of tourism in near future.

Sona further exhorted the people to change mindset about the concept of employment and look beyond ‘dependence syndrome’ on government and look out for self sustaining avenues.

Responding to memorandum, Sona assured to look into the flood protection works to protect the beautiful asset of the district.
Deputy Director Tourism, Gedo Eshi Ori lamented that though West Siang falls in an important Tourist Circuit of the state, not a single person from the district has been registered as Tourist Operator so far.

Managing Director P & PT Resort Topin Ete, disclosed that the resort sanctioned way back in 2005 could be completed and brought to its present shape after many years due to multiple problems like boundary wall, negotiation with land owners for carving out a separate road for Kabu villagers, construction of the road and separate entry gate for the resort.
