ITANAGAR, Mar 30: A state level sensitization cum consultation workshop on handling POCSO cases for Public Prosecutor, Special Juvenile Police Units (SJPUs), and Child Welfare Police Officers in Arunachal Pradesh was organised today at the Art of Living ashram in Jully, Itanagar.
The programme was organised by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) & National Forensic Science University facilitated by Intellectual Forum for North East.
The inaugural session commenced with the welcome address by Khoda Rakhi, Member Secretary APSCPCR followed by opening remarks and context setting by Ms. Katyayani Anand, Advocate & Consultant-Legal Division, NCPCR. 
Chairperson APSCPCR, Gumri Ringu in her keynote address emphasized that serious interventions are required by specific stakeholders such as Prosecutors, Child Welfare Police Officers and Special Juvenile Police Unit on various aspect of dealing with cases of POCSO.
The Technical Session started with the topic of Forensic Inputs in handling of POCSO cases and the role of stakeholders delivered by Dr. Shashank Shekhar, Advocate, Supreme Court of India. Pallav Kataki, Advocate, Guwahati High Court delivered on the topic Legal Process under POCSO Act: Challenges, Solution and role of Judiciary and Prosecution.
SP Itanagar Jimmy Chiram, also presented the role of Police and SJPU, key challenges in investigation POCSO cases. It was followed by way forward action plan for state presented by Advocate Ms. Katyayani Anand, NCPCR.
Around 100 participants from all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh attended the programme.  Members of APSCPCR  Yahung Tekseng, Niri Chongrowju and  Ngurang Achung also attended the program.
