WASATHONG, Nov 4:

 

The people of Wasathong, a sleepy village of around 70 households under Deomali Sub-Division conducted a mass social service on the Longkhong-Wasathong link road to make the road motorable. The programme was conducted with generous contribution from the villagers in cash and kind and made the road worthy for plying of light vehicles at least till the next monsoon. It may be mentioned here that the Longkhong-Wasathong road which is the lifeline of the people of this area stretches just about 5km. But due to lack of maintenance, the road remains unmotorable during the rainy season
