DCM reviews hydropower projects to strengthen state energy roadmap
SEPPA, Dec 8:DC-cum-Returning Officer Rajeev Takuk in presence of General Election Observer (ECI) M Joy Singh and Expenditure Observer P P Basak convened a meeting with representatives of both contesting candidates, Kameng Dolo (INC) and Biyuram Waghe (BJP), for by-election to 12th Pakke Kessang (ST) Assembly Constituency here today.
Illustrating about the RP Act and rules & regulations of electoral process, RO and Observers collectively made an appeal to the contesting candidates and their representatives, and party workers to extend their support and cooperation for peaceful conduct of the election. Assuring for free and fair conduct of election, the trio further conveyed that no officials as such deputed for by-poll will support or will exhibit inclination to a candidate or a party during the election process.
Enlightening the do’s and don’ts of the election, SP Vikas Kumar explained about the three main roles of police personnel, which are preventive, deterrent and regulative. Briefing about the status of polling stations and electors, EVM and VVPAT, CDPO-cum-Election Coordinator Officer DK Thungon urged the contesting teams to maintain peace and tranquility for successful conduct of the election.
Nodal Officer (Expenditure Monitoring) Kikin Tagi and Nodal Officer (Media)-cum-OSD to RO Nondo Doka were also present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, a mock poll was also conducted in presence of representatives of both contesting candidates.
Nodal Officers deputed for the by-poll were sensitized about their roles and responsibilities in a training programme organized later in the day. DIPRO
