ITANAGAR, Sep 4: Irked by the lackadaisical attitude of the state government to their demand for releasing five months pending salaries, Arunachal Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (ARMSATA) has decided to wear black badge on ‘ Teacher’s Day’ as silent protest.
Speaking to media persons at Press Club today, President Taba Billow asserted that despite repeated pleas to state government and concern Department to release the pending salaries none seems to be bothered.
‘RMSA teachers get meagre salary as compared to other members of the teaching fraternity. In addition the irregular payment is also making our life more miserable,’ he lamented.
As per assurance and norms RMSA salary has to be hiked from last April, the association said.
Alleging that respective departments are playing with their emotions, Taba said that when enquiring about the delay they have been told that the delay is from the Finance department’s end.
Further, appealing the Chief Minister Pema Khandu to intervene in the matter, ARMSATA has also threatened to resort to democratic movement in the form of dharna on September 11 next at respective DC/DDSE office followed by indefinite pen down strike from September 14 next.
