ITANAGAR, Nov 7:The XVIII Uni-fest of Rajiv Gandhi University kick started with a colourful inaugural ceremony here at university campus, which was attended by Hawa Bagang, President, AAPSU and Tobom Dai, General Secretary as chief guest and the guest of honour.

Inaugurating the fest, Bagang at length encouraged students to be pragmatic to achieve their ambition in life and exhorted them to focus more on studies and pursue quality education.

He also urged the student’s community not to show up only on social media for criticizing the leaders as everyone is interrelated to each other for overcoming socio-economic and political obstacles.

Further reiterating that only politicians are not to be blamed for every unfulfilled wish of society, Bagang pointed out that every individual has a role to play in the development of the state and nation as a whole.

The Vice Chancellor, Tamo Mibang also spoke about the transition of the University since 1974.

Various competitions such as sports, track and field, literary and cultural events will be organized in these 3 days.
