 GUWAHATI, Oct 26:Minister for departments of Urban Development and Housing, Town Planning and Urban Local Bodies, Nabam Rebia today participated in the review meeting on Prime Ministers Flagship Programmes under  Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India on Atal Mission for Urban Rejuvenation and Transformation(AMRUT), Smart City Transform-Nation, Swatch Bharat Mission, National Urban Livelihood Mission, Prime Ministers Awas Yojana etc organised for all the eight North Eastern States at Assam Administrative Staff College at Guwahati.

He was accompanied by SK Jain (IAS), Secretary to Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, A Morang, Director of Town Planning and Urban Local Bodies, Sukhvinder Singh, Senior Town Planner and Er. Taring Darang, Joint Director (UD & Housing). 

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India, Hardeep Singh Puri, who took the review meeting, after patiently hearing to status of the progress of the programmes in the states, suggested for early implementation of the programmes. 

To the memorandum submitted by Rebia requesting the ministry to consider the Smart City proposal of Itanagar Capital City, the Union MoS assured for selection of the city under the mission within short period of time. 

The Union Minister of  State and the Union Secretary assured to sanction all the North Eastern Urban Development Projects from the ministry that earlier had been submitted to Govt. of India under ADB funding. The ministry assured that, the development of the state of Arunachal Pradesh should not be hampered due to intervention of China. 

Puri, further informed that the project period for all the projects under 10% lumpsum funding for North East Region has been extended for a period of 3 years. He suggested for early completion of the projects and also to submit new project proposals for further funding with the ministry. The minister also assured to release the central assistance of first instalment against Pasighat Smart City at the earliest. Later he handed over the sanction order of the Govt. of India amounting to Rs. 1.63 Cr against balance differential Central Assistance for 4805 IHHL units under SBM (Urban) and Rs.2 lakh against PMAY-HFA(U) mission to Rebia. 

Rebia while thanking him for his kind gesture and cooperation, assured to expedite for early implementation of the Urban Development and Town Planning projects and programmes of Smart City at Pasighat, PMAY, AMRUT, SBM, NULM, IHHL etc in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
