ITANAGAR, Jul 25:A team of Ramle Banggo Students Union (RBSU) led by its president Goli Doye, met with the state Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin to place before her, a memorandum containing series of grievances impacting their areas of activities- the 36th Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituency.

In the meeting, which was co-ordinated by Kenyir Ringu, a state BJP Vice-president and also a prominent figure from the region, the team pleaded with the Chief Secretary to pass stern directives for all the heads of departments posted within Nari-Seren and Koyu-Kora circles to be stationed at their posting place. This, the students’ body emphasised with revelation that government officers and staffers allegedly visit only during ‘VIP visits,’ or at the time of ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Republic Day’ celebrations.

Citing serious administrative lacunae that too against a backdrop of ‘encroachment attempts’ by neighbouring Assam, especially in the areas under the Seren Circle, the RBSU pleaded the Chief Secretary to initiate action for immediate functioning of the Circle Office at Seren, established a decade ago.

The union also brought up the issues of communication and transportation problems of the region and impressed upon the Chief Secretary to initiate administrative measures to connect the region with modern communication technologies such as BSNL mobile service network for the Koyu, Kora, and Seren Circles.

On the issues of transportation connectivity, it pleaded with the Chief Secretary to ensure that the road network of the region such as the ones constructed long before between Nari-Kora via Lipin Village; Koyu to Ego Road via- Kadu and Zirdo Village; and the road connecting Kora and Koyu villages be well maintained to serve as an all-weather road.

Here, the union also requested the Chief Secretary to direct the construction agency of the culvert at Seren River, which recently failed to withstand the monsoon rain and collapsed prematurely within short span of its construction, to expedite the re-construction works.

The team also brought up the issues of alleged ‘compromised’ education scenario in the region and urged on CS Gamlin to oversee steps for posting requisite subject teachers in the schools of the region along with all the proper infrastructural developments that are pre-conditioned for any educational institutes.

Meanwhile, following the propositions and the demands therein, Gamlin assured the team of taking up the issues with relevant authorities for early redressal.
