ITANAGAR, Nov 11:

A state tourism department owned government vehicle (Gypsy), carrying 7 railway officers drove off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Pahalwan Mor on NH415, 6 mile from Itanagar on Saturday night around 9pm.

Three people were rescued by police and NDRF team till filing of this report, out of which one person was pronounced dead on the spot and the other two, who sustained grievous injuries were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital.

“After putting all out effort we recovered three persons from the accident site, out of which one person was found dead and the other two with serious injuries,” informed OC, Itanagar police station, T Bage.

“The officials were coming back from a picnic,” the OC disclosed while informing that a team of the police along with NRDF are carrying out the rescue operation with the help of locals.

Rescue operations are still going on. Further details are awaited.
