NAHARLAGUN, Dec 2:

Special Secretary-cum-Mission Director (NHM)Dr. Tapasya Raghav today chaired the meeting to review the performance of  National Health Mission in the 2nd quarter for seven districts, namely Tawang, West kameng, East Kameng, Papumpare, Lower Subansiri, East Siang and Lower Siang at DHS Conference Hall, Naharlagun.

Welcoming the participant, Director (Family Welfare), Kabang Lego, said that organizing the zonal review by the NHM Arunachal Pradesh is a good initiative which can better facilitate the districts in improving the health indicators and also the participating districts can have first-hand experience of the activities in the organizing district.

Power Point Presentations were made by the participating districts to review the performance of their 2nd quarter activities. The participants on the second day had a field visit to the health facilities.

Reviewing the performance of the districts, Dr. Tapasya Raghav, said that the health indicators in all the districts should improve from the levels of NFHS 4 data. She emphasized on functionalization of the Sub Centres as they are the first contact point of the people with the Health System for health services.

While directing for rational deployment of Human Resource to overcome the workload, she said that ASHAs should be given due incentives to encourage them to work efficiently. RBSK activities should be planned with Annual Health Visit Plan and all the schools and Anganwadi Centres should be covered at least twice in a year, she said.

The special secretary also said that PRIs and religious leaders should be sensitized and involved so that the health seeking behaviour of the people increases and this would also increase the acceptance level of immunization services.

She also opined that Aadhaar seeding should be completed so that all benefit to the beneficiaries are paid through DBT. She observed that the performance of 1stround Intensified Mission Indradhanush is low and directed the districts to cover 100% children under 2nd round of IMI with a better House to House visit plan and surveys.

Dr. Dimong Padung, Nodal Officer (NHM) also gave brief presentation on feedback of IMI second round and short orientation on incoming Measles – Rubella vaccination campaign was presented. 

Concluding the review meeting, Dr. K Lego DFW pointed out that the implementation of all national health programmes at all levels is a must. He also opined that the benefits of JSSK and JSY should reach to the beneficiaries and all the pregnant women and infants up to 1 year of age should get all the services free of cost under the scheme. He observed that rationalization of manpower is need of the hour.

Dr. Moromor Lego, Director of Health Services while giving the concluding remarks, said that the IEC activities need to be taken in the district. He also emphasised on medical officials to ensure that employees are punctual and reach for their duty on time.
