HAWAI, Jan 11:The intensive campaign against Measles and Rubella vaccination got a boost with the visit of Dr. Vineet Goyal, WHO Consultant on Immunization who is on intensive visit of Anjaw District in Arunachal Pradesh to monitor status of preparedness and implementation of the MRVC.

During an interaction with Deputy Commissioner, Mamata Riba, at district headquarters , Hawai today, Dr Goel  appreciated the fact that ANMs and Health workers are working very diligently in this difficult and sparsely  populated belt where some villages have to be traversed  over  mountainous belt. He evinced hope that health indicators will greatly improve given the dedication seen on the ground.

The Deputy Commissioner, DMO Dr. K. Perme and team while assuring dedicated efforts for the mission highlighted the ground status.       

In accordance with the module of the programme, Principals and Headmasters of all schools functioning in the district have been notified as School Nodal Teacher for the MRVC by the Deputy Commissioner, Anjaw during December 2017 and all stakeholder departments of ICDS, Education, PRIs had been called upon for 100% coverage by the end of IM.

Earlier Dr. Vineet Goyal visited the various health centers over the two day visit to the district.
