ITANAGAR, Oct 12 : The Public Rights Action Committee (PRAC) has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of National Highway 415 (NH-415), accusing the state government of failing to ensure proper maintenance of the vital road.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the state of the highway during the press conference held today, the committee questioned why commuters continue to face difficulties despite regularly paying road taxes. It also called for greater transparency and accountability in the utilisation of funds earmarked for road maintenance.
“The public has been paying road tax, yet the condition of the road remains pathetic. The maintenance amount seems to be pocket money for them,” the committee alleged, criticising the authorities for their alleged failure to address the issue effectively.
Highlighting the inconvenience caused to daily commuters and vehicle owners, PRAC announced its plan to organise a rally to draw attention to the highway’s poor condition on October 13 and urge the concerned authorities to take immediate corrective measures.
The committee stressed that the condition of NH-415 requires urgent intervention to ensure safer travel and smoother connectivity for road users.PRAC has called on the government and the concerned departments to take responsibility, ensure proper utilisation of maintenance funds, and implement concrete measures to improve the highway.
