ITANAGAR, Nov 30: In a significant development, Papumpare Police has handed over the death case of former MLA, 14th Doimukh Constituency and Chairman Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board, Ngurang Pinch to Special Investigative Team (SIT).
Pinch was found dead on the river bank at Ranaghat under Taraso circle of Papumpare district on November 18 last. In the preliminary inquest, police suspected it as case of drowning, however after pressure from family members for a free and fair inquiry to unearth the cause of death, Police handed over the case after almost a week.
‘The unnatural death case No.01/2017 US 174CrPc under Balijan Police station related to the death of former MLA and Chairman APAMB, Ngurang Pinch has been handed over to the SIT with all relevant documents,’ informed SP Papumpare ,Tumme Amo.
Reportedly, an eight-member team including Pinch had gone on a rafting expedition on November 17 last and stayed on the river bank, however Pinch went missing in the wee hours of November 18 and on search his floating body was located at Hatimatha in between Basar Nallo and Rana Ghat on Assam side.
