ITANAGAR, Aug 21:Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to achieve a New India by 2022 under Sankalp se Siddhi campaign, Union Minister, Science & Technology, Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Monday has urged the people of the state to follow the PM’s vision with true spirit and renewed zeal to make the dream a reality. 

Recalling the supreme sacrifices made by the martyrs of the freedom struggle, Vardhan said that only remembering their contribution will not be enough, but we must carry forward the same spirit to give the country independence from corruption, poverty and caste system etc. 

“We need to uphold the spirit of nationalism and work unitedly towards building a better India, where every citizen has a prosperous and dignified life so that the dream of our founding fathers and sacrifices made by freedom fighters do not go in vain. That will be the perfect tribute to our martyrs and freedom fighters,” he added.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan was speaking during a programme  on - Naya Bharat Manthan-"Sankalp se Siddhi", a part of the campaign launched nationwide to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement here at Banquet Hall, Itanagar.

The programme was attended by MLAs Techi Kaso, Nabam Rebia, Mama Natung and General Secretary, BJP state unit, Dominic Tadar along with other senior party members and morcha heads from districts’ etc.

Mentioning that the PM is committed to develop NE states from all fronts, Vardhan said that after Modi took over the reins at the Centre, he has devoted himself to bring all NE states especially Arunachal at par with other states, which was neglected during Congress regime. 

Further seeking moral support from all masses, Dr Vardhan said it is the duty of every citizen of the country to share the burden with Modi to accomplish the goal to make the country a better place to live in and asked all to pledge to make the country clean and free from corruption.

In his welcome address, General Secretary BJP Dominic Tadar highlighted the objective and aims of the campaign and informed the participants that the initiatives is part of PM vision to give tribute to freedom fighters of Quit India Movement and to apply the same spirit to free India from corruption and other vices.

Minister, Urban Development & Town Planning, Nabam Rebia and PS, UD and Housing, Techi Kaso also echoed the similar sentiments and called upon the people of the state to lead from the front in the campaign and encourage others to do the same.

Vice president, K Ringu and President, BJP, Capital Unit, Tarh Soping also spoke on the occasion.
