ITANAGAR, Jan 6:A two day induction training on bio medical waste management (BMWM) for data manager, incinerator operator and bio medical waste handlers of all District and Referral Hospitals successfully concluded today at the Directorate of Health Services, Naharlagun. A total of 48 participants from 14 districts attended the training.
The training was held under supervision and guidance of State Nodal Officer Cum Member Secretary, BMWM, Dr. Annong Borang and inaugurated by Dr. M Lego, Director of Health Services Cum Vice Chairman, BMWM, in presence of Dr. Hage Ambing, CMS, TRIHMS, Naharlagun on June 5.
On the first day, trainees were educated on the importance of Bio-medical waste segregation, collection, transportation, treatment and its disposal by resources persons of the programme, Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology Dr. Amit Kumar Singh and Microbiologist In-charge SRL/ICTC Dr. Mope Riba.
On the second day, the participants visited the RK Mission hospital, Itanagar where they were imparted practical hands-on training to operate incinerator by the experts including waste management initiatives taken up there.
