ITANAGAR, Oct 6:In a complaint letter addressed to Principal Chief Conservator of Forest cum Secretary, the 12th Forum of Pakke Kessang Assembly Constituencies requested him to initiate action and issue legal notice against the owner of rubber plantation allegedly developed at Monai under Seijosa Circle without obtaining mandatory forest and land clearance certificate.

Alleging indifference by concern authority, the Forum informed that since 2004, there was massive and rampant destruction of government infrastructure, fencing and valuable species of trees, which is posing threat to the fragile ecology of the circle.

Moreover, it alleged that despite knowing all the illegal activities going around in the area, the concern authorities are silent on the issue and have failed to initiate preventive measures to protect the community land from encroachers.

The forum demanded to initiate appropriate action against the illegal occupants under Forest Protection Act without further delay.
