YACHULI, Aug 27:Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Yachuli organised a one day program on 'Sankalp Se Siddhi" a New India movement (2017-2022) aiming to improve the living conditions of the farmers through improved agricultural practices at the office of KVK Yachuli on Saturday


The programme was presided over by local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary,Transport, Likha Saaya and Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen. 

Saaya while lauding the efforts of the government to reach out to the weaker sections of society in the remotest areas of the country through "Sankalp Se Siddhi " called upon the progressive farmers to be aware of new polices, beneficial schemes and new agricultural technologies to double their income. 

He further requested the KVK officials to prepare soil health cards for Yazali, Yachuli and Pistana circles. He also advised the farmers to dig compost pits in their backyards to generate organic manure. 

Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen and KVK head, senior scientist Dr AN Tripathy also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the objectives of the program. 

"The government envisions to double the income of the farmers by 2022, by focussing on improved irrigation, seeds, planting materials, organic farming and soil health cards, value addition through good processing, better agricultural marketing through e- NAM, improved institutional loan, emphasising on agricultural allied activities like diary, poultry, bee-keeping, fisheries etc," Dr. Tripathy informed the gathering while pledging to provide all assistance to the farmers. 

The programme was attended by PRI members, progressive farmers, scientists and officials from agri- allied sectors.
