ITANAGAR, Oct 11:City BJP unit today appealed the capital administration to scrap the exorbitant parking fees in hospital premises.

City President Tarh Soping, in a release today expressed concern on the collection of parking fees at RK Mission hospital and TRIHMS, Naharlagun and other parts of the capital complex.

‘There is no logic that few hospitals are collecting fees in the name of parking as IMC should take up the matter,’ he said.

Soping further appealed the capital administration to take note of the collection of arbitrary parking fees and requested for a blanket ban. He also appealed the IMC Councillors not to encourage the collection of parking fees in their respective wards.

Meanwhile, RK Mission Secretary, Swami Visweshnanda informed that hospital is a place where patients should get first preference but justified that many were using the hospital premises to park their vehicles for shopping purpose thus depriving space for genuine patient transport.

‘Parking fees are being collected to discourage this practice. People should be advised strongly to use the paid parking arranged by the district administration,’ Swamiji asserted.
