Yupia, July 27: Papum Pare ,Deputy Commissioner  Sachin Rana, on Wednesday  chaired a review meeting for the successful implementation of the ‘Har GharTiranga’ campaign in the district at Yupia. Rana informed that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up the “Har GharTiranga” — a nationwide campaign to encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes to mark the 75th Independence Day. “HarGharTiranga (or Bringing the flag home) in the 75th year of Independence is not only an act of personal connection with the Tricolour, but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and promote awareness about our national flag,” he further added.
Informing that 35,700 flags have been placed under demand for Papum Pare, he urged heads of  various departments,NGOs and PRI members  to encourage the people to buy the flags.
“ The flags priced at Rs.25 shall be made available in all the administrative offices across the district by 1st August,"  he further added while urging people to come forward and make the “HarGharTiranga” a mass movement.
Speaking on the Flag code of India,2002, he  called for exercising utmost respect to the national flag whenever it is on display.
“ It should occupy the position of honor and should be distinctly placed. A damaged or dishevelled national flag should not be displayed," he added.
After a threadbare discussion, the members present agreed to volunteer for purchase and sale of the flags and organise a flag march as part of the  campaign.
