PASIGHAT, Nov 29: In a crucial general body meeting of Oyan village under Sille-Oyan circle held Sunday last, villagers resolved to fight against the rampant drug menace like brown sugar, opium, bhang including illegal sale of IMFL and gambling etc for which a designated village voluntary organization in the name and style of Oyan Against Social Evils (OASE) was formed.

While informing about the crucial meeting and its decision, Jiten Pait, one of the persons behind the formation of OASE said that the meeting was held to discuss and debate upon the urgent need to fight against rampant drug menace.

The villagers in the meeting have also decided to charge a fine of rupees fifty thousand from violators.
