ITANAGAR, Dec 6: Open dumping and burning of solid and other waste materials at the entry point of Aalo Town along the Pasighat-Aalo road via Pangin at Hissam area has become a regular feature since the last many years. With absence of any solid waste management plant or any other initiative for proper disposal of burial of waste, garbages collected from all around the township area are dumped and burnt in the open causing serious health hazard to the denizens living nearby.

Flagging the issue, Secretary Debate & Symposium AAPSU, Marli Kamki said ‘It is quite surprising to note that despite being one of the oldest administrative towns in the state, there is no proper mode of disposing garbage in the township and its nearby areas.’

He further urged the authorities concerned especially the District administration including the UD department and all the legislators of West Siang to look into the looming garbage crisis in the district.
