PASIGHAT, Oct 11:  One person has been arrested for raping a minor girl at Pangin in Siang District, while the prime accused is absconding. 

The girl, 17, was raped by one Kabit Muang of Lokpeng village in the presence of one Tanon Dupak at the latter’s residence on October 8 last.

Following an FIR lodged at Pangin PS on 9^th October by Tanu Tali, brother of the victim, vide Pangin PS Case No. 24/17 U/S 376(G)/323/506 IPC, co-accused Tanon Dupak was arrested on the same day and has been put under police custody. But prime accused Kabit Muang is absconding and effort is being made to arrest him soon, informed Investigating Officer, OC Pangin PS, C. Josep.
