NAHARLAGUN, Nov 25: Four day training on Public Financial Management System (PFMS) concluded at the Directorate of Agriculture, Naharlagun on Saturday. The training on PFMS is a mandatory step for sensitizing district level officers of the department who are to act as master trainers to their subordinates in the districts.
The training about digital transaction of central sector fund under various schemes on Farmers’ Welfare was imparted by the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) officials of state Finance, Planning & Investment department and Agriculture Directorate officers. The trainees were provided with Internet connectivity in the National e-Governance Plan-Agriculture (NeGP-A) laboratory for operational activities to acquaint with online digital transaction of CSS and state funded schemes.
In her introductory address in the inaugural session, Agriculture Secretary, YW Ringu emphasized on clear insight into the methodology of PFMS and appealed to the officers to clear any sort of confusion or doubt from the resource persons and departmental officers. She also advised all the participants to be careful in operation of the system to maintain total transparency in utilization of government fund.
It is worth a mention here that the Agriculture department is already on board the PFMS and has started release of fund to the district officers and beneficiaries digitally in direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode under Submission on Agricultural Extension (SAME) programme.
