“NES-ASS needs to work together for the greater interest of Assam-Arunachal and our boundary issue should be resolved within the community and both the state governments should cooperate,” he said.
Vice-President (East) Nyishi Elite Society, Tarh Tabin, exhorted the need for peace and tranquility for development. “We have problems and issues amongst us, for which we should not expect outsiders to solve them but rather do it ourselves. Civil society like Axom Sahitya Sabha, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Nyishi Elite Society and others have to come together to resolve the boundary issue,” he said.
Appreciating Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma’s statement during Arunachal’s 36th Statehood Day celebration, he appealed both the state governments to take the local people residing along the boundary and civil society into confidence so that the issue is resolved once and for all.
