ITANAGAR, Feb 25: NSS volunteers from various colleges of the state are participating in the three day workshop on “Conflict Resolution and Peace Building for NSS Volunteers” which began today at the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education conference hall here in the state capital. The workshop is being conducted by the State NSS Cell, DHTE, Itanagar and sponsored by the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
Inaugurating the workshop, Additional Secretary (Education) and Director, DOTCL, Ranphoa Ngowa, exhorted the NSS volunteers to come forward to resolve the conflicts from society. He cited the various provisions of the Indian Constitution to promote peace and resolve conflicts. He also suggested the young minds to focus on their set goals and to contribute to their society and state in the best possible manner.
Vice-Chancellor, Arunodaya University, Dr.VN Sharma also suggested the NSS volunteers to contribute to society in the best possible manner and build peace.
Prof. Vasanthi Rajendran, Head, C.T.O.C.B., RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu while joining the workshop virtually, appreciated the initiative of State Liaison Officer, Dr.AK Mishra, for holding such type of workshop for the enhancement of the personality of NSS volunteers. She agreed to conduct more workshops for the tribal students in the state.
Altogether 55 NSS volunteers from J.N.College, Pasighat, DNGC, Itanagar, Don Bosco College, Jollang, BYGW College Lekhi, Hills College of Teachers’ Education Lekhi, St. Claret College, Ziro and WRG College, Deomali are taking part in the three daylong programme.
