ITANAGAR, Jan 15:Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner, Prince Dhawan, inaugurated New Sumo Ticket Booking counter at APST Bus stand Ganga, organized by All Arunachal Pradesh Tours and Travel Association (AAPTTA) here on Monday. All the Sumo Counters under AAPTTA near the national highway, Ganga has been shifted to APST Bus Station.

Thanking AAPTTA for its continued support to the Administration, the DC also extended gratitude to its federal units for its support in maintaining traffic regulations and also defying bandh calls. He hoped that the new ticket booking centers would be helpful for passengers by bringing both buses and light vehicles under the same roof. .  ‘Now people don’t have to wander from one place to another for booking tickets, with support of station Superintendent –APST station Itanagar now  counters for almost all the places has been made open in one place,’ he added.

The DC, further appealed the tour operators to maintain cleanliness in the area and urged APST and private bus operators to cooperate with the operationalization of Inter State Bus Terminal by shifting their facilities to ISBT Lekhi. He requested all the stakeholders to follow proper traffic guidelines issued time to time to ease the congestion in the roads of the Capital Complex.

The District Administration along with various stakeholders are finalizing traffic plan for Capital roads. The plan includes barricading of the roads to segregate the lanes, U-turns at specific locations such as Near Zero point, Gompa Mandir, Kingcup school etc. Right turns would be restricted to Bank Tinali Tri-junction, Civil secretariat, Old Sumo counter near Ganga Market and Hanuman Mandir, Ganga. Additional arrangements include one-way traffic in various sector roads, no parking zones, one lane parking zones, and operationalization of towing vehicles. He requested all the stakeholders to cooperate with the administrations’ endeavour to ease traffic congestion.

Station Superintendent, Tuter Dulom, while speaking on the occasion appealed the tour operators to cooperate with his department in maintaining the sanctity of No Tobacco zone of APST campus.
