BASAR, Aug 25:There is no threat to the BJP government in Arunachal Pradesh and Pema Khandu will continue to be the chief minister, stated BJP state President Tapir Gao while addressing a gathering of party leaders and karyakartas of West Siang district on the eve of joining of 12 Zilla Parishad Members of the district mostly from 29-Basar Assembly Constituency at a function held here at Town Hall Club on Friday.

Asserting that BJP has made inroads to booth level across the districts, Gao said that there is no threat to the Pema Khandu-led BJP government in state.

‘There is even no sign of any change in leadership of the government at present as the government is stable’ he said.

Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched more than 100 central sponsored schemes (CSS) the benefits of which must reach the last person in villages, he asserted.

Gao also underscored the policy of the party to present report on activities of the party and development of the state to the Centre regularly and urged all officials, PRI members and elected representatives to work in coordination.

He also addressed apprehension of the masses about intrusion in personal food habits.

‘BJP never wants to interfere in people’s dietary choices. The slaughter house closedown in Uttar Pradesh is due to court order, our party has never discriminated on lines of religion,’ Gao said while referring to several of its leaders who belong to different religions.

Further putting speculation to rest, the state BJP chief admitted that there was a move to dislodge Pema Khandu but it could not materialise.

‘NEDA partner PPA also tried to dislodge the stable government and BJP being part of NEDA broke the association with them. Now the government is stable and would work smoothly and there is no issue of change of leadership,’ Gao added.

He further appealed the party leaders and workers to maintain cleanliness and implement swachh bharat abhiyan. He also emphasised on creating awareness against drugs which is damaging the health of youngsters.

Local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Land Management, SJETA &WCD, Gojen Gadi in his address said that the state is dependent on funds from the central government and exhorted for completing works from time to time in order to receive funds on regular basis.

Since the BJP is in power at the Centre and state, most of the leaders and PRI members have joined the saffron brigade to join hands with the government led by Pema Khandu for rapid development of the state, Gadi said.

He also informed that schemes and project of his assembly constituency will be equally distributed as most of the PRI members have joined BJP and no discrimination will be made from his end. Welcoming 1 INC and 11 PPA ZPMs to the party, Gadi requested them to work sincerely.

Dumporijo MLA Paknga Bage appealed all to extend helping hand to local MLA Gojen Gadi to strengthen the party and development of the area.

BJP state General Secretary, Jarpum Gamlin while calling for strengthening the party at the grassroots level, cautioned workers against ‘new versus old’ mentality among party workers. He further appealed all workers and leaders not to post official proceedings of the party meeting in social media without seeking permission.

West Siang BJP I/C Lilong Lingfa, District President Yomto Jini, State media cell Member Dotum Sora, 29-Basar Mandal President Mari Nyori & General Secretary Nyoto Nyodu among other addressed the gathering.

Earlier in morning the team led by Tapir Gao and lawmaker Gojen Gadi, Paknga Bage and host of BJP leaders inaugurated the BJP mandal office at Basat Market line.
