PASIGHAT, Oct 14:  

 

A major fire accident which could have proved destructive due to bursting of cooking cylinders, which broke out in the wee hours ofFriday however was averted due to alertness of neighbours who doused the fire and prevented it from spreading further.

 

 

The fire accident broke out in a kitchen of a forest department quarter occupied by one Tajom Mibang, ACF under Pasighat Forest Division here at Forest Colony.

 

 

Though the cause of the fire was not exactly known, but residents of the locality said that, they heard a couple arguing at the tri-junction late night and they are suspected to have thrown a lit cigarette butt etc thus causing the fire.

 

 

Meanwhile, SP Pranav Tayal who visited the site with OC Pasighat PS Atan Taki on Friday has assured to press patrolling in all the streets of the Forest colony. Tayal has also assured the Ward Councilor, that he will investigate the matter.
