KHONSA, Nov 6: An orientation cum convergence meeting with the stakeholders of district task force on convergence (DTFC) was conducted at DC office, Khonsa on Monday.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, PN Thungon appreciated the activities undertaken by NERCORMP in Tirap and Longding districts and suggested to take up vermi composting, avocado, kiwi, red sandal, Chinese teak plantations and introduce organic farming in order to phase out Jhum cultivation gradually.
Participating in the meeting, local MLA, Wanglam Sawin in his address, urged NERCORMP-Tirap CRMS to take up long term sustainable project activities in the field of agriculture, horticulture, veterinary and social infrastructure with strict monitoring of SHGs & NaRMGs funds.
Sawin assured to extend financial assistance under MLALADs fund and sought full cooperation from HoDs of the line departments for successful establishment of model village at New Lainwang.
Project Manager cum Member Secretary, DTFC-Tirap District, Ruzing dwelt on NERCORMP and its activities in Tirap and Longding districts
