YAZALI, Sep 20:  The 2nd anniversary of the Nyishi-Apatani Summit (NAS) was observed in a befitting manner here at Yazali, Lower Subansiri District today.

Addressing the gathering, President Nyishi Elite Society (NES) Bengia Tolum said that relationship between Apatanis and Nyishis have always been good which need to carry forward for strengthening the relationship that would pave the way for development, communal harmony and brotherhood.

He also appealed the people of both the communities to unite together for the development of the area and state as a whole. Tolum further added that a unity tower would be constructed shortly at Joram to mark NAS which shall reflect the unification of both communities.

Speaking on the occasion, President Tanw Supun Dukun (TSD), the apex body of Apatani community,  Khoda Ruja stressed on cordial relation between Nyishi and Apatani community. The summit of 2015 was a bench mark for the two communities and we need to keep it up for long cultural and social relationship, he added.

Among others local representatives like MLA-Ziro,  Er. Tage Taki, MLA-Yachuli LIkha Saaya and other senior members of both communities were also present at the day long programme.

Meanwhile, a NAS-Volume-1 (Audio album in Nyishi and Apatani) was also released on the occasion.

NAS was initiated on 2013 and it was given to ascent in a way of ‘Joint declaration’ at a huge function held at Ziro in 2015 in presence of several community leaders.
