ITANAGAR, Jun 16:The Mere Vichar Andolan Committee, a conglomeration of organizations constituted to seek justice for Pul family on Friday held a sit-in protest dharna at IG Park Tennis Court, Itanagar demanding the government spokesperson, PD Sona to immediately refund Rupees 4 crore allegedly taken from former CM late Kalikho Pul or else spell out clarification in public on the allegation against him in the “Mere Vichar” note.

The committee is also demanding the immediate step down of chief minister Pema Khandu, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein for their involvement in the suicide case of late Pul and Tourism parliamentary secretary Passang Dorjee Sona to ensure free and fair investigation over the bribe case.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaling Tasing urged PD Sona to prove himself in public if he is clean and if not then he should immediately pay back the amount to Pul family as people of the state need answer on the corruption charges levelled against him in “Mere Vichar”, purportedly written by late Kaliko Pul, before he took his own life last year.

Stating that the dharna is not politically motivated, Tasing said ‘We are surprised that he is unable to face the people today which clearly show that he is involved in the case.’

"People elect an MLA for development of their respective area and they should remember that they are being given the post not to endorse corruption related activities or for personal gains," added Tasing reiterating that the committee will continue its protest till justice is delivered to the Pul family.

Tasing went on to add that that according to Indian evidence act 1872 section 32 (1), when a person leaves behind something in written form before his death, it is treated as dying declaration and stated that PD Sona's name mentioned in the “60 paged note” in itself, we believe is the biggest evidence against him for taking bribe from late Pul.

Informing that few months back, Pul’s wife called Sona seeking immediate pay back of the money, Tasing observed that Sona’s reaction over the telephonic conversation was controversial and add more confirmation of his guilt.

Speaking on the occasion first wife of late Pul, Dangwimsai Pul, disclosed that she had earlier through telephone had  talked with PD Sona over the alleged Rupees 4 crore case.

She alleged that Sona did not deny that he had not taken any amount rather he allegedly invited her to meet him on some favourable day so that matter can be discussed.

“Accordingly I sent my elder son to meet him, but instead of sorting out the issue, Sona asked my son to leave his house. After that he is continually trying to evade the issue and not responding to our plea to return back the money,” she disclosed.

The committee further sought support from all sections of society to seek justice for Pul family.
