ITANAGAR, Aug 9:The Mere Vichar Andolan Committee on Wednesday observed the 1st death anniversary of former Chief Minister, Kalikho Pul by conducting series of humanitarian service by giving away fruits to patients in hospitals like Tomo Riba Institute of Medical Sciences and Rama Krishna Mission hospital, Itanagar.

Besides, the MVAC team also toured few orphanages like Mother Teresa home, Oju Mission etc and distributed food items, study materials and other basic items to children.

Later in the evening a candle light ceremony was organized to pay tribute to the people’s Chief Minister at Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar, which was participated by people from all sections of society.

Leading the candle light ceremony, Spokesperson, MVAC, Tarh Atung disclosed that the series of events was planned by the committee to mark the passage of one year of Pul’s death and to remind people about his achievements during his short stint as CM.

 “Pul used to love working for the poor and needy people. What we have done today is an example of what he did during his time. And by doing this we want to remind the people to support the cause for bringing justice to late Pul and his family,’ he added.

“Time has come and everyone should wakeup from their sleep and fight against corruption in the state. The battle started by Pul against corruption should not die with his body, but his aspiration should be carried forward by the people,” Atung added.

Further reiterating its demands, the committee said it will not stop their movement until justice is given to Pul and his family.
