PASIGHAT, Oct 15: Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong while terming teachers as role models urged them to impart quality education and to inspire their students towards physical fitness and personality development.
Moyong said this after  inaugurating the newly constructed main gate of the Mirbuk Government Secondary School, Pasighat on Friday. The said gate has been constructed by the school administration, duly contributed by the teachers, staff members and alumni of the school.
Addressing the gathering, he said that proper infrastructure is essential for creating a favorable educational environment for the school children, and appealed to the school authorities to maintain learning environment for the wellbeing of the students. Stressing that education and other facilities are free at the school, Moyong said the present government had always wanted an education system where the rich and poor could study together. “Teachers are looked upon as role models by children and they play an important role in shaping students’ characters and building a value-based society," he said and urged the teaching community to impart quality education and to inspire their students for physical fitness and personality development.
DDSE Odhuk Tabing laid stress on discipline, teaching excellence, innovative teaching practices, institutional leadership and creativity. Headmistress Opet Padung presented a report on academic excellence and functioning of the school. Among others, Alumni and SMDC members also spoke on the occasion. Girl students of the school presented impressive traditional folk dance which was highly appreciated by the audience.
