PASIGHAT, May 4:MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary (Disaster Management) Kaling Moyong accompanied by PMC Chief Councilor Kaling Doruk, engineers of PHED& Power and host of leaders today inspected various government sponsored ongoing schemes and projects at the Bakin Pertin General Hospital(BPGH). According to official source, under SIDF2016-17, rupees 20 lakhs for installation of one silent DG set and under SADA 2017-18, rupees one crore twenty four lakhs were provided for installation of two numbers of 200KV and one 250KV power transformers and allied electrifications to stabilize power supply to the hospital. On the other hand thirty five lakhs was received under SIDF for boring, construction of pump-house with 15KV silent Gen-set and PS overhead tank (35,000 ltrs capacity) for the hospital.
Satisfied with the progress, the MLA directed the executing agencies to maintain quality and ensure durability and to expedite the works so that it can be officially commissioned on the occasion of ensuing ‘Etor Gidii’.
‘Safe environmental conditions and the availability of standard power and water supply are essential to achieve sustainable development. Water and power are priority in healthcare settings and should be integrated as key components. To maintain an optimum level of safety of sophisticated healthcare setting and its safe operation, regulated power supply will be provided,’ assured the MLA. During his visit, he also inspected the X-ray unit and construction of CT scan building.
Earlier in a coordination meeting held with i/c JDHS Dr. B. Taki, Moyong took stock of developments and appealed the hospital fraternity to shoulder bigger responsibilities as the hospital also caters to surrounding districts like Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang and Lower Dibang Valley etc in addition to East Siang and neighboring Assam.
‘Hospital must have an effective service delivery system providing quality care and services to the patients,’ the MLA opined adding that necessary corrective measures should be taken on priority.
