TAWANG, Oct 27:Chief Minister Pema Khandu today chaired the ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ programme organized at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall attended by RWD Parliamentary Secretary Jambey Tashi, Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi, panchayat leaders, district heads and other officials.

Commissioner Finance Ashish Kundra made a detailed presentation on the major central flagships programmes. He also made presentation on GST, Aadhar, DBT and Public finance Management System (PFMS). This was followed by an interactive session where officials present submitted their queries regarding the Centre’s programmes. The legislators present also expressed their views and suggestions to the officials.

The Chief Minister in his remarks said the state government has taken up the initiative to spread awareness regarding the Centre’s flagship programmes in the state. He observed that awareness levels among the people about the schemes were very low and lamented that even the government officials in the departments are not adequately aware.

To meet up these challenges, he informed that state government had on October 12 last set up committees in every district to carry out the information and awareness campaign to the people about the Centre’s flagship programmes. He informed that each committee consists of a legislator, commissioner or secretary level officers along with Deputy Commissioners, officials and public leaders with a five-year target set to achieve the objective.

The Chief Minister called on the Circle Officers to play pro-active role in spreading awareness at the grassroots along with the panchayat leaders and gaon burahs. He said the main motive of such massive awareness campaign is to help improve the work culture and to acquaint the officers with all the central flagship programmes. He also said the objective is also to ensure that benefits reach the lowest strata of people and stressed on the role of the banks in it.

The Chief Minister said the state government is also working pro-actively to bring transparency in the system. He said all fund transfer for the central schemes will be routed via PFMS so that flow of funds are monitored at all levels. He informed that a CM dashboard will be unveiled soon where the Chief Minister himself can monitor all schemes and programmes implemented by the departments. He said Arunachal has earned a bad reputation in reaping out money without executing work on the ground and stressed on doing away with such corrupt culture.

The Chief Minister in his closing remark appreciated the officials from the district of having maintained a good work atmosphere. He said Tawang has earned a good reputation in executing and implementation of programmes and schemes on the ground. He encouraged the officials to maintain such work culture so that other districts can emulate.
