KHONSA, Aug 21:Local MLA, Tirap, Wanglam Sawin   accompanied by Deputy Commissioner PN Thungon on Monday inspected General Hospital, Khonsa and took stock of the functioning of the hospital. The duo also inspected the ongoing construction of blood bank unit, which is on the verge of completion.

Sawin urged the DMO to ensure healthcare personnel are stationed at their respective places of posting to avoid complaints from CHCs and Health Units etc and assured to direct the PWD to complete the construction of blood bank within the stipulated time.

Further they also paid surprise visit to Government Higher Secondary School, Khonsa. Interacting with the teachers and students of the school, the DC instructed the teachers to strictly monitor the daily attendance of the students and to ensure that students failing to attain 75% of school attendance be barred from taking the examinations.

Further, Sawin also attended a workshop on Intensified Mission Indradhanush, wherein he suggested the ANMs, Anganwadi workers, ASHAs to be pro-active in discharging their duties at their respective place of posting.

While DC, suggested DMO to keep medical surroundings neat and clean and said he will soon pass an order to evict   all unauthorised OBT buildings from General Hospital complex.
