ITANAGAR, Nov 30: After days of distress, Saturday brought good news for the family and well-wishers of Karto Riba who was found safe and reunited with his family today.
Riba was found safe at Katpaddi railway station, Tamil Nadu this morning and has reunited with his wife at Vellore. Riba, 50, hailing from Lipu village, Lower Siang had gone missing somewhere at Srikakullam railway station, Andhra Pradesh on November 20 last while on his way to Vellore to meet his wife who is undergoing treatment at CMC Vellore.
‘Riba reach Katpaddi railway station , Tamil Nadu safely today but it seems he is mentally disturbed and not in a position to recall the happenings of the past few days,’ informed relative Daggam Riba to this daily. As of now we only understand that he lost track of his destination on the same day he went missing, he added.
‘Karto Riba has been located and I have spoken to him. He is safe but does not remember anything. Enquiry has been initiated to find all his belongings that has been lost,’ informed IGP Robin Hibu in his social networking site while extending gratitude to Naga sister Amen, who helped and gave shelter to Mrs Riba, wife of the missing man.
Further, Hibu also appreciated the effort made by the volunteers of Helping Hands at Vellore as well as the Railway Police.
