ITANAGR, Oct 4:  The apex body of Mishmi, Cultural & Literary Society of Mishmi (CALSOM) in a meeting held on Wednesday has unanimously passed a resolution, directing all land owners, employers to deport the Chakma & Hajong working as construction workers, house maids and farmers other than government employees under Tezu to their designated settlement  areas  immediately.

In their minutes of meeting, the CALSOM also prohibited selling of vegetables, livestock or any agricultural products by Chakmas at Medo Sunday market or entire Mishmi belt in general.

In this connection, the society also urged the district administration along with forest officials to conduct eviction drive regularly to check encroachment of Mishmi lands by Chakmas and sought proper boundary demarcation at Kathan, Tumba and Jaliban near Debrumliang to check frequent encroachment by outsiders.
