PASIGHAT, Aug 31: Frazzled over the transfer of Chemistry subject teacher mid-session, students of a school here have reached out to the concerned MLA for retaining the teacher at least for the session.

In a letter addressed to MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary for Disaster Management, students of Class XII Science of Independent Golden Jubilee Government Higher Secondary School, Pasighat have sought immediate intervention of local MLA Kaling Moyong for retaining GP Mehta as his transfer mid-session is likely to affect the course.

Altogether 120 students also held a joint signature petition.

When contacted, MLA Kaling Moyong admitted  that, mid-session transfer is really affecting the students and the said teacher needs to be retained at least for this session.

The government’s policy of teacher rationalization especially after the start of the session is affecting many students and this needs to be reviewed keeping in mind the larger interest of the students.
