ITANAGAR, Oct 20: In a blow to the state BJP which speaks of corruption-free government, a Head Gaon Burah and Secretary, Lune Bane Kunu of Darak-Kamba circle has lodged an FIR and complaint against BJP ASM Balar Bogo of 27-Liromoba Constituency for mismanaging at least Rs 7 lakh under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

Addressing reporters at press club today, Secretary LBK, Kitum Karga alleged that under the influence of Mandal President, Bajum Bogo who happens to be the younger brother of Balar Bogo, ASM Bogo embezzled at least Rs 7 lakh by forging signatures of villagers.

‘A project under MGNREGA for construction of Anganwadi center at Darak-Kamba circle was sanctioned last December and accordingly a fund  of Rs 7 lakh ( Rs 5 lakh under MGNREGA and Rs 2 lakh  under CDPO)  was sanctioned but to our utter surprise no villagers were engaged in the work as per the rule. However, fund amounting to Rs 7 lakh was withdrawn on March last against the same project by using forged signatures,’ informed the Secretary.

In addition there are half-dozen names of deceased persons,’ he disclosed. Karga further informed that the Anganwadi center was built in the private property of ASM (BJP) Balar Bogo as an extension to his existing shop.

‘How can a government property be built in a private shop. Moreover, it is not a good ambiance for Aganwadi center and significantly there is no land lease or donation agreement with the government,’ claimed the Secretary while adding that the ASM is also misusing compound of a primary school as his private farm.

The Secretary also asserted that when the Head GB of Kunu Yami village raised his concern over such malpractices, the Mandal President and ASM misusing their power suspended the HGB.

‘We have lodged FIR against the ASM but no action has been initiated against them. So we urge the state BJP President to terminate the Mandal President maintaining their ideology of not tolerating corruption.’
