ITANAGAR, Dec 7: A team of six athletes from Longding, who had won medals at the recently concluded State Olympics at Naharlagun are on a weeklong exposure trip to Delhi and Patiala.

The team during their tour, today paid a visit to Junior Home Minister, Kiren Rijiju at his residence which was led by DC, Longding, Vikram Singh Malik and discussed various issues on sports development as well as other problems in Longding district.

Rijiju, who accorded warm welcome to the visiting team, exhorted the young sportspersons to avail benefit of the recently launched Khelo India scheme which aims to nurture and develope sports talent at an early age.

Earlier, the team also met boxing legend Mary Kom, Vijender Singh and Jitender during the tour.
