PASIGHAT, Sep 11: Playing in the final of 3rd Komlen Yirang Memorial Football Tournament 2017 at Ngopok village under Mebo Sub-Divisionon Saturday, the Monggu Banggo Football Club (MBFC) defeated Mebo Football Club by 4-1 and lifted the trophy.

First goal from MBFC came at 20 minute of the match from Aki Yirang. But score was equalized after MFC’s Miding Borang hit a net on 30 minute. But before the end of the first half MBFC hit their 2nd goal at 38 minute which came from Olik Tayeng thereby making score 2-1. In the second half, MBFC kept the match dominated and added two more goals which was scored one each by Aki Yirang (his second goal)  at 54 minute and Odum Gamno at 72 minute thereby making total winning score 4-1.

Alongwith trophy, MBFC won a prize money of Rs. 40,000, while Runners up MFC walked away with Rs. 25,000 as prize money. Tobang Lego of Mebo FC received player of the tournament award, while Dr. Kanggong Yirang was named best scorer for netting a total of 7 goals. Siyang Yirang received Best Goalkeeper award and Seram FC was adjudged best disciplined team of the tournament. Along with the winner and runners up team, Seram FC and Meboian Veteran FC too were awarded prize money of Rs. 3000 each for reaching the Semi-Finals.
